Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Sued By Reporter For Revoking Press Credentials

Kelly alleges that Lightfoot, and Chicago police Superintendent David Brown, have violated his 1st and 14th modification rights by inventing an interplay Kelly had with Lightfoot’s safety element as a ruse to revoke his press credentials.

The lawsuit alleges that, per Lightfoot’s instruction, Brown “directed a police officer assigned to Lightfoot’s seventy officer robust safety power to manufacture a report that Kelly had ran into him on July 19, 2022. Brown then used this false report as a pretext to revoke Kelly’s press credentials on August 8, 2022.”

The go well with contends that your entire episode used to revoke Kelly’s credentials was false and Kelly processes video from the alleged incident displaying “no such bump happened.”

The go well with, filed by journalist William J. Kelly within the U.S. District Courtroom for the Northern District of Illinois in late August, alleges Lightfoot and Chicago Police Division Superintendent David Brown violated his First Modification and Fourteenth Modification rights, saying, “They’ve achieved this for probably the most cynical and contemptible motive that may be imagined, to prevent Lightfoot from being questioned about their failures within the efficiency of the general public workplaces they at the moment occupy.”

In an interview on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday, Kelly referred to as the go well with “a textbook First Modification case.”

“Sadly, the textbook is from Venezuela,” he added.

In April 2022, Kelly joined Tucker Carlson to debate why his powerful questions have impacted his means to report on Lightfoot’s disastrous management.
